As per latest weatherproofing: Enclosure Orientation of One of the largest carriers in North America - AT&T On July 6th, 2015,AT&T now allows to use weatherproofing enclosures on all jumper to component connections(Jumper to antenna, Jumper to RRU). Common sense is that the antenna interfaces of different kinds of connectors like 7/16 DIN connector, N type connector, 4.3-10 connectors etc have to be absolutely protected in a very reliable way so that water ingress into the coax connections will not happen , or signal integrity cannot be guaranteed! To protect the antenna interfaces, suppliers have responded with different kinds of solutions, conventional or newer, from tapes plus mastics, heat shrink, cold shrink, boots, enclosures. The evolution process of these solutions, from original to smarter, have been focusing on how to make the solutions quicker, easier, safer, and of course cheaper.
